Teacher/Parent Information and Resource – Level Twenty – Two

The books in the ReadingTeacher systematic phonics program MUST be read in order, because the sounds and words in each book build upon those learned in previous books. It is important that students master each book before moving on to the next. Each new word throughout the program is repeated at least five times in the book in which it first appears, and five more times in the next ten books.

In Level 22 students will learn:
The letters ‘kn’ make the /n/ sound as in “knife”
The letters ‘wr’ make the /r/ sound as in “write”
The letters ‘mb’ make the /m/ sound as in “lamb”
The letters ‘gn’ make the /n/ sound as in “gnome”
The letters ‘ph’ make the /f/ sound as in “phone”
The letters ‘ch’ sometimes have the /k/ sound as in “school”
The letters ‘wh’ make the /w/ sound as in “when”
The letter ‘s’ sometime has the /z/ sound as in “rose”
Twenty-three new decodable words: knot, know, wrong, write, lamb, crumbs, cake, lost, roses, sign, gnome, yard, plant, phone, photo, Phil, school, ache, stomach, wheel, white, when, fix
